Appoint/Remove as Army Leader any NPC in your employ that is more talented at combat than you are. You may need to have, as traveling companions, several NPCs skilled in combat, in case your army leader dies. It is important to note that NPCs have different capabilities as sieging and combat between armies, so it is advisable to have a good one for each form of combat.
