The bailiff is the NPC who runs a fief for a player. It is identified by its unique ID number and by a (*) in your Family Matters Menu. The presence of an effective bailiff in each of your fiefs is crucial if you want to get the most money out of the fief, keep the fief loyal and out of rebellion and well defended against enemy attack.
