Also called a Great Noble. A player who is hereditary lord of a province, as in Normandy, Burgundy, Brittany, etc., or has been appointed Count (in France) or Earl (in England) as overlord of a province and thus over all other players who possess fiefs in that county. As a player may end up with fiefs in more than one county, he may have more than one Great Noble he is beholden to.
