HYW Staff and their Email IDs
The "Developers" are; Jim Dunnigan (game design), Dan Masterson (system development) and Al Nofi (research). All three may be reached via the email address: JfDunnigan@aol.com, Bugmaster@aol.com and anofi@aol.com. As the authors of the game, they do not play, although they may hold small player positions in the game so they can keep an eye on new features and old bugs. While Jim acts as the Sysop for Team Baudet, he doesn't get involved in the play of the game because he has access to everything everyone is doing.
Player assistance provided by the Heralds, who are the staff who help run the games and who also play.
The Heralds of England and France are responsible for English and French nobles respectively. As they are also players for those kingdoms, they can be trusted with sensitive information on upcoming campaigns. These "national" Heralds also start the game as royal officials, serving as long as the king wants them. These "National" Heralds are some of the most experienced players in the game and their principal job is to share that experience with other players.
The game's Sysop takes care of players who are neither French or English, as well as writing the Announcements screens for the game and making all decisions about their games. The Dean of the College of Heralds, Kate von Mayr, is the chief Sysop and should be contacted if you have any problem with any of the Heralds. The developers also back up the Heralds when the workload gets too heavy.
The Sysops are not just Heralds for the 'Other' positions. While the National Heralds of England and France are servants of their respective Kings; the Sysops are both independent and neutral, making them available to all players of any nationality for advice and questions. All the Heralds observe confidentiality in what is discussed with them personally for the purpose of getting advice on the game. It doesn't matter what nationality you are; if you can't find your respective National Herald (they are often busy with official French or English business), please feel free to ask one of the Sysops. Sysops hold 'Other' positions in order to remain neutral.
If you have a question about the game that you wish to ask through Email, you can just send the appropriate Herald. Their names are listed when you first enter the game, on the Announcements screen. The Heralds are all here to answer your questions - that's their job. And it saves them the time of forwarding basic questions to us, and lets them concentrate on improving the game. Remember that the only kinds of questions that will require confidentiality are some you don't want seen by members of the other kingdom. For this reason, we have areas in the BBS that are restricted to English or French players. It's best to ask questions there, because not only Heralds but also other players on your side will be able to help you.
