For those of you who are more comfortable playing a PC of the opposite sex than the one you start with, you can Switch your active PC with that of your current PC's spouse. For example, If you grew tired of playing Thomas Holland, you could switch and become Jeanne Holland. This is a one way switch, though. You cannot switch back until that character dies and you choose a new heir. Women cannot raise or lead an army (even with an NPC commander) unless their Leadership is 9. One advantage to switching spouses is that the now non-pc spouse has their stature frozen, or at least much less vulnerable to perambulation. So, If you get your super-miser to stature 9, then switch to wifey, the family expense will stay low no matter what happens to the active spouse, so long as his or her leadership is better. Of course, overlordship income will move about quite a bit.
